Property Description

Villa Pietraserena is an ideal centre to explore Tuscany, though you will need a car.

Within 20 minutes drive you can reach:

Several beaches, ideal for small children

Marinas, from which to go on boating trips

Follonica, with its multitude of shops, and two markets, one open air, one indoors

Many bars, ice cream parlours, restaurants and pizzerias

Vineyards and wine cellars

A golf course

Two supermarkets

Within 40 minutes drive you can reach:

Massa Marittima, a well preserved medieval town with a castle

Many other hilltowns (Gavorrano, Caldana, Giuncarico, Scarlino)

Famous cities that are centres of art (Volterra, San Gimignano)

Ferries to take you to the islands of Elba or Giglio

Within 60-75 minutes you can reach:

Siena by motorway

Florence (Firenze) by train from Follonica

Many famous cities (Pitigliano, Santa Fiora, Sorano, Acquapendente)

Archeological sites, including Etruscan tombs (Vetulonia, Roselle, Populonia)

But after a day of excursions, the best thing is to come back home to Villa Pietraserena, to relax and enjoy the garden and the swimming pool.

House and Garden

Detached house in its own garden of 1 hectare

On the ground floor there is alarge sitting room linked to a dining area with a table for eight people. The sitting room has three sofas and two armchairs, and a television with satellite reception and a DVD player. Also on the ground floor is a large kitchen with a breakfast table, and gas + electric cooking facilities. On the first floor there are four bedrooms, of which two are double with en suite bathrooms. The other two bedrooms have each two single beds and share a bathroom. There is also a small kitchen on the first floor. The double bedrooms have their own balconies, while the other bedrooms share a large balcony with its own staircase into the garden.

Garden and Swimming Pool

The garden extends to a hectare of grassland, with fifty olive trees, many flowering shrubs and various fruit trees. At one end there is an area shaded by pine trees. There is a swing for children. Among the olive trees there is a large swimming pool, measuring 5 metres by 12 metres, which can be heated if the weather turns chilly (very rare in July and August). A barbecue is available for guests to use. There is also an outside pizza oven, which can be used under supervision. There are also secluded open areas that can be used for sunbathing or games, but also plenty of shade that is welcome during the heat of the day, especially by whoever gets to use the hammock! Many guests go to the seaside in the morning, and then come back in the afternoon to relax and have a dip in the pool.

Sleeping arrangements

Bedroom 1 -- super-King size double bed and antique wardrobe, with its own bathroom with bath and fixed shower plus showerhead. Balcony overlooks the garden.

Bedroom 2 -- super-King size double bed, capacious wardrobe, own bathroom with shower cabin. Balcony looks over the front of the house.

Bedroom 3 -- two single beds, dresser with drawers. Bathroom next door (shared), with shower cabin.

Bedroom 4 -- single bed, plus divan that can be opened up into a double bed. With the divan closed becomes a sitting room. Next to a large balcony overlooking the garden. Bathroom next door (shared).

Sitting room -- one of the divans can be opened up to offer a King size double bed.

The four bedrooms can accommodate 8 persons sleeping, which is included in the tariffs. A further two persons can be accommodated in the sitting room, extra cost € 100.00 per week each.
